Aistear is a play-based curriculum framework aimed at junior classes, that nurtures the child’s learning experiences. Aistear helps students grow and develop into confident and competent learners through four main themes:

• Identity and Belonging

• Exploring and Thinking

• Communicating

Aistear has become an integral part of the infant classroom in recent years, embedded in daily practice. The children excel in learning, while immersed in an imaginative world. With the support of staff and parents, the programme grows in strength each year. The wider school community have been immensely supportive by donating toys and items to furnish our imaginative play areas.

Some of our popular themes include: Pirates, Polar Explorers, The Farm, The Toy Shop, The Doctors, My Home, The Restaurant, Space, Travel Agents, Jack and the Beanstalk.
